Figurine candleholder rustic white 1

Figurine candleholders are an ongoing experimental series, where each candleholder is a unique functional sculpture with character on its own. They are inspired by fairytales, circus, ancient and tribal pottery, and dream-world. Each candleholder is slowly hand-built by different hand-building techniques.

This candleholder is hand-built from smooth sand-like stoneware clay. The surface is decorated by brushed on white slip and manganese dioxide patina. It is left unglazed to emphasize the raw texture.

Each candleholder is handmade in my studio and one-of-a-kind. Small imperfections are celebrated as a part of handmade nature.

Measurements: ca. 38cm high and 13cm wide at the widest point
